What ever happened to the new Miracleman stories? I was under the impression he would be rolled into Marvel continuity at some point and we would get new stories featuring the character. Did I get it wrong or have we been misled? Maybe the plans just got canceled?

It was never, ever the plan to put him into the Marvel universe, just finish up Gaiman's story. Apparently, he's still working on it.

Gaiman's been working on it for 7+ years now at least. You would think he'd have 10 or more issues under his belt by now even with his other projects. Marvel/Disney might be the real reason we haven't seen anything. They probably don't see the dollar potential, which is a pathetic shame if that's the case.

Does Marvel really need another superman wannabe, in addition to Hyperion, Sentry, Neferia, Glads etc?

Indeed. IMO, nope... and I could very well do without those too.

TBH, I don't think Miracleman works in any universe except his own. I don't really understand why any fan would want him to be part of Marvel.

Alan Moore's Miracleman run back in the 80's was one of the best on-going comic stories I ever read. Gaiman finished it up after around issue #17 I believe but he stuck with Moore's vision until the series ended somewhere in the low 20's.

I'd say since the character is now owned by Marvel, divide them in two. Let Miracleman be his own thing and bring Marvel Man et al into the Marvel Universe as Marvel's version of the Shazam Marvel Family.

Thanks for clarifying, I guess I dreamt up that part about him being introduced/retconned into the Marvel Universe. I can't believe Gaiman hasn't finished yet! I figured I had just missed the ending
