It felt as though Marvel was plainly strategically(?) synergizing some of MCU Shang Chi elements and some Marvel/Netflix Iron Fist elements with the new retconned origin/land of his mother Jiang Li of K'un LunTa-Lo and his "not so bad afterall" father Fu ManchuZheng Zu. And now it's revealed another MU unknown/hidden island of ThemysciraQilin Island as a new remote location for future stories.

Any revamps to OG MU character concepts feel far less obtrusive or offensive than for other A-listers (or is Shang still a B?) with this run so far. With this ish, we also revisit the Xian who seem to become downgraded Chinese/Taoist gods. And for cliffhanger, readers are teased by more of the ominous supercharged grandfather Chieftain Xin and how he MAY fit in to a mandatorynew arch enemy dynamic.
