Well, after I got out from the cinema, I had mixed feelings. A bit like I had after walking out of Phantom Menace. Which sounds scary right? Oooh! \:D

Well, after having digested the movie for a couple of hours, shooting electrons back and fourth in my brain, I think I know what felt a bit "off".

In my oppinion, it was the Spider-Man we all know and love, but the world around him felt more alien this time. There have been a lot of artistic licenses in the other movies, but I didn't quite get the feeling that this was a Spider-Man movie.. guess what I am saying is that it felt a bit detached from its comic book roots and has created a universe of its own. That being said, some more thoughts.

As in the previous movies, they introduce new characters that may or may not play a role in future \(\?\) films. The seeds for the Lizard, Carnage and the Death of Captain Stacy (And Gwen Stacy) has been sown.

The battles were good, and the special effects reached a new level. But the main focus of Spider-Man 3 was the Peter Parker, and his inner turmoil. He has become an accepted Superhero in New York, the people love him, and well... he starts getting cocky, and forgetting the people around him. He keeps batteling with himself, but ultimately he gives in to his more selfish side, when he starts wearing the alien-symbiote suit.

He sinks almost as low as a man can sink, before he realizes what he has become, and casts away the black suit, and the persona he had become. Spider-Man is reborn, reaches out to Harry, and in the end, all is well, but with some major personal loss, which just reminds Peter of Uncle Bens words; With great power comes great responsibility. He forgot the responsibility part, but rediscovered what it truly means in the end, and what it can cost when he forgets it.

Stats? Well I give this movie a 4.5 out of 6.

Now go see it, and make up your own mind! \:\)
