Miles Morales - Ultimate Spider-Man 008

Jeffereson Davis has been mostly a cipher as the father of the superhero Spider-man. Now with this backstory origin he is actually interesting. And the underworld setting was served well by the art/style. Not sure his (lack of) Q-rating earned him the whole issue spotlight, though, PLUS it appeeears that the untold 2nd half might take up too much of next issue. Didn't catch how HYDRA ties in, as per the cover, either. On the plus side, the Bendistalk was good, tying in Nick Fury into the past was good, Miles gaining his dad's respect to hear the story was good. Nothing amazing or spectacular but overall good. PLUS, and this take on Miles' Spidey continues to be 100x better than what he gets in All-New Ultimates and All-New X-men.

Not sure went on before the 'Death of Peter Parker', never read Ultimate titles, so my question: How ..err.. big a deal is Ultimate Kingpin? What do we have forward to expect with him?

I miss Dad and Dan especially during the holidays.
