And here are some preview pages but note it is REALLY BAD that they SPOILER the cliffhanger page:
http://comics.ign.com/articles/823/823554p1.html

Will probably be passing on the Infinity Inc #3. Series seems more like a STEEL title with some Infinity Inc. guest stars. Seems kind of slow for the (re)forming of a new DC superteam. The artistic license used on the cover was clever enough (though redundantly deceptive as #1's cover). BTW, when was the last time John Henry wore the Steel suit?

So that's where Luthor's one bodyguard went... The Everyman Project was an intriguing Steel/Luthor storyline in 52 and it's good to see it still has impact in the DCU.

Remember the heated debates about Superman's depowering from his ludicrous planet-moving capability from pre-Crisis. Since then DC has flucuated his power levels (not sure his current generally acknowledged levels) but not near to ludicrous planet-moving. However this issue demonstrates that some interpretations still seem ludicrous. In the recent JLA arc doesn't Superman easily scan for energy signatures like Steel's patchwork device does here for 'extremely static and weak electric fields'. It's neat that John Henry makes the limiting attempt but it's odd Superman doesn't try. And the speed involved to thorough search 'every building subway and park withing a 200 mile radius' seems on the ludicrous power level in the seconds elapsed. Should Superman (or even Flash) be THAT fast??

They took SOME artistic license here. How long was Irons standing there? How long after Superman left did he switch on the computer? How long did HIS search take?

Remember the days when Batman would throw one punch and carry on a five-minute dialogue in the time it took to HIT the villian? ;\)

Superman's Pal

Didn't this same debate surface back in "For Tomorrow" when Superman claimed to fly from Earth to the sun in 'less than a second' or some ridiculous amount? That would clock him at about 500 times the speed of light. Since omike just reread that tale, maybe he can remind us of the particulars.

In JLA 193 (V.1) "Secret of Genesis"... the Red Tornado had been destroyed. The (original) League was investigating RT's explosion. Flash was putting his two-bits in on the conversation with Firestorm and the BIG THREE... Flash is finishes a rubix cube during the brief words throws it in the air and runs all the way to Central City... checks on T.O. Marrow's cell and while he was there he checked the prison records... Ran back and caught the Cube in two panels...
Firestorm's jaw drops... he doesn't believe it until the Big Three just grin and WW says "Firestrom. Why do you think they call him the fastest man alive?"

Now original Superman and Flash were pretty even in the speed department... I believe Flash was only slightly faster than Superman (and he could do stunts I believe Superman couldn't).

Anyhow my point is... Since Superman in ANY universe is only slightly slower than the titleholder of the Flash Mantle(Running that is... It has been hinted that he is faster than Flash flying... I think.)...

I have to assume doing a 200 mile sweep (With X-ray vision as well, more than likely flying) would be a pretty easy feat for him... besides... what is the range on his X-ray vision?... I would guess pretty far.

ANNNND... since we are on this subject...
In a recent JLA issue Superman and Black Lightning battle the Injustice League... and BL takes out a bunch of them... I just wish they would show Superman not holding back on his powers... sure... if they wanna write in someone ingeniously takes him down so others could get ahold of him... fine... But letting BL take out three when Superman could have taken twice that amount of villains (at least) in the same span of time... just makes for shoddy writing.

Sorry... as you can see. I am a huge fan of super speed... though I hate that dispicable speed force concept...
Speaking of that... Does supes touch on the so called "Speed Force" in order to use his super speed? or is that only for heroes that actually run on two legs? Heh.

That's why I'm skipping it.

We don't really know what Superman did. He may have simply flown up high into the sky, hovered, and scanned with his super-vision and super-hearing. Even that's pretty impressive, but he's Superman.

Lord Majestros:
IIRC,in an issue of "The Flash", Supes was chasing Wally and I think Wally was thinking to himself that Supes wasn't connected to the Speed Force. People like Supes, Supergirl, the Marvels, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, etc, don't get their speed from the Speed Force.

I think your taking this to literaly... superman just flys above the city and uses hearing? xray? telescopic? abilites to search, i dont see any reason to assume he has to go into every place like the Flash would.

It looks to me that the other's are right about the combination of super speed, vision powers, and perhaps super hearing.

Out of habit Superman uses his x-ray and super vision when trying to find something.

I read an issue of either Superman or The Flash (I can't remember), probably about 2 years ago now, where Supes and Flash had a race. Superman was able to keep up with Flash (for the most part), then Flash took the speed force right out from under him and took off leaving Supes in the dust.

I believe what Wally did there is steal Superman's kinetic energy to slow him down. I know he's done this to bullets in order to make them fall harmlessly to the ground.

Lord Majestros:
Stealing speed from people and things is an ability the Speed Force gives Wally. He can also lend speed to people things as well. However, the things and people he lends or steals speed from DO NOT have to be connected to the Speed Force.
