Superific art. And story. And uniforms (especially the 3 protagonists). And Dawnstar *love* (&wing details). And new(?) future setting. And Batman element. And Justice League element. And LSH mythos elements. And splash pages. And armbands. And teacher (&teachings). And chain of events logic. And part 2 of arc of unknown length (ATM dont care how long this enjoyable entertaining storyline lasts). And variant cover (http://images.tfaw.com/covers_tfaw/400/se/sep070184d.jpg). And did I mention the story and art?!

Questions:

How many of the JL are previously established DC characters?

Were there other LSH easter eggs possibly missed?

What Jay asked(especially #2):
http://www.comicboards.com/superman/view.php?rpl=071123133656
1/ is the first image the cover and is the shrouded image of Superman meant to be with the Legion team or just an allusion to the story being about him?
2/ how on Earth did they get away with naming a character Spider-Girl?!?!?!

What Nav asked(paraphrased):
http://www.comicboards.com/superman/view.php?rpl=071122050100
Is there likely a Kingdom Come connectio?

Why wouldn't Invisible Kid be dealt with a little more respectfully being of Earth?

Should there, logically, have been more decay in the Batcave?

Isn't it unlikely, Batarangs are pure metal (at least anti-magnetic)?

Does Camp 6736 implies a cosmic reset button must be rehit?

Even without answers, this issue was a superific fun read, eh?

Most if not all are obscure Silver-age Legion characters, some are rejects from the Legion tryouts. I thought 'Earth-Man' was oldtime Legion foe Nemesis Kid when I fist saw him in the previews!

The camps that Superman & Dawnstar are overlooking in preperation for a breakout are allusions to silver-age Legion stories where the LSH is similarly oulawed, most memorably it turns out Universo was behind it...Hmmm? >:-|

She's a Silver age character! Nearly as old as Spiderman IIRC... she even became a Legionnaire in the Bierbaum/Giffen LSH.

He threw his lot in with the Legion obviously. Thus no stmpathy.

Definitly, it looked like it had been abandoned a mere 20 years instead of a Thousand!! Think of all those Bat droppings and their acidic qualities and it's even more ridiculous.

I thought that too!

Yes. Mind you I feel more was needed in the way of background - why did things escalate beyond the Legions ability to adapt and how did this Justice League become so pre-eminent?
You'd think some oldtime Legion foes would be coming in for a slice of Earth/the U.P. with the dissolution of the Legion, Where are the Fatal Five, Dominators, Khunds and other miscellaneous threats the Legion contended with? Probobly besides the poit i know...

I've seen only the preview pages.

Is this the adult Legion? If so, why are they being called "Lad", "Girl", and "Boy"? (And if not, where's Rokk's goatee? \:D )

If they knew young Clark and haven't seen him in years, how in the world could "Kal" have told them anything about Batman? That would have been part of Clark's ADULT life, not his youth

How would young Clark have even KNOWN about Batman, let alone the kryptonite ring?

They aren't the Adult Legion as such. This is basically a timeline that has split off from the midway point of Paul Levitz' 80s Baxter series.
They aren't calling each other by their Lad/Lass codenames... YET!

I wondered that too, but if they last saw each other during the Crisis and given the fluid nature of continuity at DC these days... It's just about possible. I suppose

> How would young Clark have even KNOWN about Batman, let alone the kryptonite ring?

As I said - they last met before/during the Crisis so it's feasible... just improboble is all.
There's a *lot* of stuff like that in this story that doesn't make sense really, Karate Kid being alive for one. i'm enjoying the story but am increasingly cynical about DCs approach to basic continuity and history.
