I wish DC would change Conner's direction. He's not Superman and will never be anything like him. Conner should be an anti-hero of sorts, like Wolverine. I mean half his genetic make-up is from one of the most brilliant villian of all time. Conner should be a man who can take on his opponent with brute strength like Superman, use his brains like Batman or Lex and make the hard deadly decisions like wolverine. Hence, a more darker toned costume would suit him nicely. Conner wearing a black T-shirt with the kingdom Come "S" is not a bad idea. Also, what do you guys think about the Conner in the Superman Justice Lords custome?

Intelligence is not passed through genetics.

I'm curious to know why you think that Conner could never be like Superman? Superman has gotten the "Blue Boy Scout" bad rap for decades, but I honestly believe that it would be harder to be that kind of hero than the anti-hero type. It's easier to give into base desires and mete out justice in one's own fashion than to take a higher road. Why would it be so wrong for Superboy to want to aspire to that level?

Yes it is, to a degree. There are many factors involved in measuring one's intelligence, ie, education, environmental, etc. Genetics do play a role.

I consider making the hard decisions necessary and living with it, as the higher road. The lower road is capturing a rapist/murder etc, locking them, then they get out by whatever means, kill and commit their crimes again, and then the people's champion repeats his steps all over again. Saving innocent lives by whatever means necessary is the higher road.

Not in the way you seem to believe.

In the comics universe, sons and daughter generally have the iconic characteristics of their famous parent(s). Sakaar the son of Hulk has his father's strength/rage and his mother's "Oldpower". Daken, son of Wolverine has his father's claws, healing factor and fighting skills. X-23, Wolverine's female clone has his claws, healing factor and killer instinct. Conner, has Superman's Kryptonian abilities. Why then should he not also have Lex's brilliant mind?

Or Superman's super intelligence, for that matter.

The thing is that Conner is more like Superman than he will ever be like Lex Luthor. Half of his genetic stock comes from Superman and the rest of his morals come from his friends and the Kents. Besides, Conner is a slacker. This is why he isn't a genius like Lex and the last thing he wants to do is emulate him. His conscious and his soul are more like Clark's than Lex.

Saving lives by whatever means necessary is the higher road.

He doesn't care WHOSE life he's saving, he's in the business to save lives!

And this goes into a bit of a rant I had on the DCU Board awhile back. Get rapists and serial killers OUT of comics, already! Let Superman fight mad scientists who create tanks in order to rob banks! Let Superman fight fantastic menaces that don't exist in real life!

If the villians HAVE to kill, limit their victims to single digits, please! Don't they realize that they're digging themselves a hole from which they won't escape? If Superman and Batman don't eventually kill Luthor and Joker who kill 300,380,498,400 people every time the wind blows, the heroes will look pretty ineffective pretty darned soon. \:\(

Does the present Superman have super intelligence? I always thought Superman should be super smart, superior than Batman. However, only Allstar Superman seems to have above average intelligence.
