I can certainly live with this. These are interesting times for Superman, after a few years of relative stagnation it's encouraging to see some effort being given to him, I have mixed feelings about it all but largely positive i have to say. A fresh start does seem like a very good idea to me so I have braced myself and hope this isn't yet another busted flush that will go down the pan after the first few months... cynical perhaps but I was the lone stupid git last year who stood up all the way for JM Straczynski when everyone else was saying it was never going to end well.... a bitter experience to say the least.
I do wonder (hope rather) if a new editorial team are in charge. I really do think a clean sweep is vital in that regard as fresh drive is urgently needed to push the character forward, I just want good stories and a sense of belief from this characters creators and some genuine enthusiasm for his books again.

I'm not too sanguine about that. I've never been a fan of Perez's art, and I find his writing corny and on the juvenile side. On top of that and if I recall correctly, he writes a pretty lowly powered Superman, which holds very little interest for me -- it can work, but only in the hands of an amazing writer, which Perez is not to me.

Now, that's not being very fair actually, RC. The lower-powered Superman is all we actually HAD at the time George Perez wrote Superman in Action Comics at the time.
If he'd actually tried to write the Earth-1 Superman, then we'd know how he'd do with a higher-end Superman. Maybe now that DC is changing, we might get some good stories.

His lower powered Superman was a lower powered Superman for that lower powered Superman era, if you catch my drift.

I was just thinking of this a few minutes ago. What i suspect is in the offing; a MAJOR beat down from "Mr. Majestic", showing that "Superman" is not so super after all. More woldstorm rejects dumped on the DCU.
Honestly, i like majestic, and even his interaction with the DCU, when he appeared in Supes title. Doing things like this is major FUBAR!!!
Essentially, this entire enterprise is nothing more than a wildstorm take over of the DCU and the people at DC are to ignorant to see the manipulations going on.
my two cents.

What makes you think that?I dont get the connection that says Wildstorm is taking over D.C. and Majestic will smash Superman. On what are you basing those comments?Maybe theres something I havent seen or read?Serious question-not a sarcastic or snide remark by me.
Aha-now I see the newsarama article and see why you have some concerns.I dont see any logic in bringing Wildstorm into new earth(or whatever its called)when it has its own universe already. At this point I think its all a sales gimmick and unless its very successful they return to present status quo inside a year.Lee was a major player in Heroes Reborn at Marvel and this sounds like the same thing done for D.C.

The only thing i know is what i have read, which no doubt is the same as you, but i've seen such to know better. They creep, they crawl, and then BAM, they are in and they are the norm.
What i see happenning, which the "Wildstorm" universe has not been addressed yet, is the complete removal of everything DC has gone through to rebuild itself, in the past few years. "52" is down the drain. Most especially, the "Golden Agae" Superman is now no more, as is the Justice Society. I'm surprised that there are not more people upset about that.
Everything that is "old" has been wiped out. Kal-L, Lois Lane, Earth-2, The Daily Star, everything...GONE!

Don't worry, the public domain or the heirs will be rescuing Superman from the talentless, evil hands of DC comics soon. I hope.
