http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/2011/06/08/the-next-generation-of-justice/ Apparently, he'll be in the nu TEEN TITANS: Quote: Tim Drake is forced to step out from behind his keyboard when an international organization seeks to capture or kill super-powered teenagers. As Red Robin, he must team up with the mysterious and belligerent powerhouse thief known as Wonder Girl and a hyperactive speedster calling himself Kid Flash in TEEN TITANS #1, by Scott Lobdell and artists Brett Booth and Norm Rapmund.Interesting he's not mentioned in the solicit, though. He was probably out getting his tat finished when they wrote it. ![]()

Written by Scott Lobdell: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/06/08/dc-relaunch-scott-lobdell-confirms-hes-writing-superboy-1/ So, the Superman family will have three titles, at least. I'm not holding my breath on a new SUPERGIRL title. My nose, maybe. But not my breath. omike015 ![]() kandor.monkeylord.net (10.0.1.245) using Fortress Kryptonian Browsing Matrix v1.9.38 (0.48 points) | |||

On the one hand, I've been wanting to see Scott Lobdell get back into mainstream comics. So while I have no interest in any of these Post Crisis-Zero Hour-Infinite Crisis-Final Crisis-Flashpoint revamps; I'm glad he's getting steady work. But on the other hand, this will be the third try at a mainstream Superboy book, when their previous try didn't even make it past issue 10! I mean, what the hell? And on the final hand, dear lord, the costume is god-awful. Here I thought they couldn't do worse than the plains clothes look...

I mean, what the hell?I don't think that's quite fair. The most recent SUPERBOY series didn't fail. It was just shuttered and relaunched the next month because of this reboot gimmick. Mostly because of what RC said that Perez writes a low-powered Superman. Since I HATE how ludicrously powerful Superman is nowadays, I'm interested to see him powered down where he should be. And there's the dumb tattoo. *Shudders* It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

That's what I mean... the book was barely into double-digits; so why reboot it? If it was issue 50 or even 100, I could understand it... but when it'll barely crack issue 10? That's just nuts!

Given that this is a complete reboot, I would have liked a thorough background and modern take on Superman. It seems as though we are starting off at the same point in time, however, and just ignoring the past. We already have a Superboy and Supergirl? Is this a good idea? Oy.... Ok, I think Robin looks pretty cool.

I want to give them the chance, but this will be the FOURTH time they've rebooted Superman (Birthright, Secret Origin and Earth 1) to be younger and 'hipper'... and since they seem to never be able to grasp the lesson of COIE; I just don't see the point in spending any money on something I know they'll just retcon anyways. I'd probably be more accepting of it if they did a line-wide ending (in essence, give every character their own "Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow") and then started fresh... but since it looks like they'll again be cherry-picking elements to keep and throw out, I don't want to spend money on something that's so disposable. But that's just me! Quote: Quote: But on the other hand, this will be the third try at a mainstream Superboy book, when their previous try didn't even make it past issue 10! Although, I will admit, that while I don't love the costume on him in the Superboy#1, I'm happy at least to see him back in something that RESEMBLES a costume...

But that's just me!Your speaking my language. On a personal level, I absolutely refuse to accept either Secret Origins and Birthright regardless of what DC says is canon. There is nothing wrong with Bryne's origin and that is the origin they should have stuck with. If DC wanted to make minor changes to that origin (such as Clark being Superboy, to name one example), I'd be fine with it. But certainly not an ENTIRE retcon that's going to be retconned away in a few years anyway. ![]() Quote: Quote: Quote: But on the other hand, this will be the third try at a mainstream Superboy book, when their previous try didn't even make it past issue 10! The new one he will be wearing is worse than the one he has now. And I don't even consider the one he has now a "costume" since it's nothing more than regular clothing (which is why I detest it so much). And now they are taking SEVERAL steps backwards with his future "new" look. ![]() And Supergirl doesn't look much better. She looks like a cross between a military officer in a dress uniform with a cape, a dash of New Genesis added in with the boots of a hooker. ![]()
