Quote: ANY ever listed as such in the DCU?Not in the main continuity, no. But, the Superman of Earth-33 seemed to be using what was called "Kryptonian Magic" and was also immune to it. It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

There was a Kryptonian Sect in Pre-Crisis continuity called the Wizards of Juru. They operated in secret and were in hiding from the rest of the 'technological' society of Krypton which shunned magic. The only survivor of it was named Thul-Kar, who managed to transport himself into the Phantom Zone before Krypton's destruction in order for the society to survive. But he was trapped and essentially become a servant to the consciousness of the Phantom Zone called Aethyr (in fact, when he tried to defy him, his face became disfigured). As far as I know, his first appearance was in the Phantom Zone mini-series and his second (and only other appearance) was DC Presents#97. But yes, there were Kryptonian Sorcerors ![]()

Interesting, as thought that they as a race shunned all magic, and were just science/tech based! I thought that was why they had a magical weakness, due to them not wanting to study/know about it at all! Would that mean that one could be a Kryptonian while on earth, as not have a magical weakness then?

So Prime was immune to magic because he was born on earth prime, and that Green K and magic ONLY works if that found in your own earth reality?

Well, you have to remember that no one has a magical weakness. It's such a trippy deal when it comes to Superman, because since magic can affect him, it's seen as a weakness and not just magic, which can affect anyone. From my olde D & D days, we would have called what Superman displays, magical resistance. I doubt any human could survive a strike from Captain Marvel's lightening bolt, but Superman has withstood several. He's not invulnerable to it, but he has great resistance. a sword of sharpness would kill a regular lad, but that would only be able to cut or wound Superman, and he still has super-speed and strength to snatch and break the blade. Dragon's fire shouldn't hurt him at all, but even then, Superman would withstand it, then blow it away, freeze it, knock the dragon out, etc. Unless it's some really heavy-duty magic, and the spells are specifically designed and aimed at Superman a la Mxylptlk (I don't care what you say, it was magic!), it's not something he cannot overcome and with relative ease. My jury' still out on Superman doing any spell casting though. R. I. P. Kato: A good friend to one who has so few

My understanding on his magic weakness is that it is really a relative weakness, as simply stating that he is not immune to it, like he is most physical force! And he is the same as anyone else exposed to it, as can be affected same way... And regardless if Mxy uses tech/science or magic, his power is so extreme FEW can resist it! Would be funny to see what would happen to kal if he donned Dr fate helmet though!
