1) Steel/Erad/Superboy/Cyborg/Dday: none of them great characters, but all have had their moments and longevity

2) Bibbo: a really lovable character and portrait of an everyman superman fan. Had the best moment in "Funeral for a Friend" when he asked God why he wasn't taken instead of Superman.

3) Emil Hamilton: a solid "science guy" for Superman to deal with

4) Dan Turpin and Maggie Sawyer: both created before the 90s, but used to good effect in triangle era

5) Cat Grant: an effective new female interest who has had longevity

6) Maxima: Ditoo

7) waverider: lot of cool stories with him and the linear men.
