Ofcoarse the Surter Saga! Done by the Art of Walt himself! Fan boys wet dream supreme! ALONE AGAINST THE CELESTIALS! UTTER EPICNESS! Jaw dropping Action! THE DARK GODS! THE THANOS RUN! Tell me these are not tops when it comes to Thor! I'd even Throw in seige! I hope that gets an animated feature! What say you Thorites? Do you agree or do you have better pics? Please share.

An animated adaptation of this:

...would make me one very happy little elf ! I do think the character designs would have to be revamped though, without straying too far from the source.

Odin's illegitimate Son

First, Walt Simonson's Ragnarok story, where we see Odin and Surtur fall....

Second, Thor vs Seth, where we will see Odin's triumphant return, along with Surtur, and Thor "finally" beating the flame demon in his father's stead.

That's too much ground to cover first of all and you don't want a direct overlap with the upcoming movie. It's almost like a Marvel only Amalgamverse in terms of the story elements they are using for the film. The more I see of it, the more I realize that it's a lot like Ultimate Thor. I like the movie don't me wrong, but if one uses the Casket of Ancient Winters as an example there are going to be radical departures from 616. We are no longer talking about a long lost artifact guarded by a mortal. Not when it's been sitting in Odin's vault the whole time! In this version the Frost Giants lay claim to it and given their elemental nature it makes more sense to me than the comic did. That said, we still don't know if and how the Dark Elves (in the original script) are going to be involved etc. Perhaps an animated series would be the best vehicle for a straight adaptation of the classic comic we all know and love.

And I am not talking about 2 live movies...I am talking about 2 animated movies which are "straight adaptation(s) of the classic comic we all know and love".

Avengers EMH - may be new but it's strength has been melding already existing stories together

Sometimes companies overthink things.

Just put out the signature story line and you usually get success - it's already proven. New fans get the most dynamic version of the character and old fans get rewarded for their loyalty.

As I said below how those wretched Iron Man and Dr. Strange projects got made is beyond me. The public was telling Marvel what they wanted and no one listened.

All Star Superman is coming out this week and while it sounds like it will suffer from trying to stuff too much of the origin material into too small a time frame it won't suffer from a lack of interest.

SURTUR WOULD SELL AND BE GREAT.

So why not just do that?

KISS rule - it works every time.

What I meant was two 90 minute animated movies would not be enough, which is why a proper series would work best. Ideally one 30 minute episode per comic!

Great story arc. Would be easy to do in one movie.

Eetmi, the Frosting Giant

Oeming's run. Truly epic in scope.
