Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier 002 ![]() Sample of 2 other responses to this book: Quote: 7.6 The Latest Pull - Nicholas Turner Having Bucky become the strings that hold this expansive universe together is an interesting idea, although it is yet to be properly utilized in the series. The art is the main reason to get this issue. This collaboration has a crazy amount of potential and this issue has definitely not deterred me from reading future adventures involving “Bucky Barnes: The Winter Soldier.†Full Review Quote: 7.5 IGN - Tres Dean Rudy's art is the selling point of this book in a big way. Filter Alex Ross through hallucination-filled fever dreams and you've got his style. He renders the world beautifully. Full Review This was my reaction after reading it: ![]() It felt like such a convoluted way to throw in a guest appearance of Old Man Loki. It was a simple one sentence plot: Bucky was drugged by Loki to lure him close to be given a clue to what planet The Man on the Wall must go next issue. That simple 1 sentence splatter-spanned over 20 pages as Bucky travels his drug induced path as it is reflected in the abstract artstyling - both literally and figuratively; an Asgardia adventure told in abstract wordplay that sadly read more abstract than meaningful or playful. Did anyone, here, glean anything useful or intertesting about Loki or Asgardia or anything about this title's direction for that matter? At this point this book seems destined to suffer the same reprecussions of having Old Man Fury whispering something to it. http://www.comicbookresources.com/imgsrv/preview/0/0/1/BBWS2014002-int3-3-81a31.jpg http://www.comicbookresources.com/imgsrv/preview/0/0/1/BBWS2014002-int3-4-cea77.jpg http://www.comicbookresources.com/imgsrv/preview/0/0/1/BBWS2014002-int3-5-e8617.jpg ![]() ![]() ![]() I miss Dad and Dan. | ||||
