Wasn't sure if this is the right place to post but sad news regarding one of my favorite comic book artists.

My father was diagnosed with the exact same in January 2020 and lasted 4 months.

I'm guessing its late stage III if George Perez has refused treatment and I can't blame him. Radiotherapy is seriously debilitating and would likely ruin whatever time he has left, I know because my girlfriend unfortunately went through it this year and there wasn't a happy ending to that story either.

Mother-f***ing cancer is a cold hearted son of a b****.

Best of luck George. You have a fantastic legacy and people will still be marvelling over your books a hundred years from now.

If George Perez isn't the greatest artist in the history of comics he is definitely in that conversation. I feel awful that his time is running so short, but the work he did has enriched my life and so many other lives so much, all I can do is be thankful I got to enjoy it.

I really hope things go well as they can for him and his family.

cheers,

I have a different perspective than many on this issue, which I hope is not unwelcome. As this is appears to be the end of George Perez's journey, I'd like to remind people that life has a 100% mortality rate. Period. If you can live long enough to have a positive impact on one other person, you're already a success.

That George has impacted so many people and inspired and entertained so many fans and artists is something that few people can achieve, and I hope he's happy that his legacy and story are good ones.

Hope he's comfortable, and content that he's left a positive mark on the world.

George Perez is one of the few artists who's art and skill defined how comics looked and still do. Sad news for me since I was exposed to Georges art since the early 80's, but it's even sadder for the world at large since we losing a unique and special artist who can never be replaced, he is truly one of a kind!
