Sigh... Sorry for being a spoilsport but I'm tired of this term being thrown around so much as if before Bendis and Co. there was no characterization. I think people are fooled by talking heads and no action and equate that with "characterization".

Anyways, glad to see at least some people are excited about what the future brings the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Well it is because usually the "talking heads" are also talking about themselves. For more than half of the MU's history you could replace any one charcter with dialogue from any other character and it would read the same. Give Peter Parker cosmic powers and he's Quasar. Give Captain America a cape and he's Superman. People complain because they can't run into a villain and defeat him on a slugout all in one issue. How do you write a story with distinct characters when there are 8 of them and still do it in one issue? The answer is you can't. Personally, I like seeing a more realistic betrayal of what being a suepr hero would be like. For example, in the Avengers annual it shows the heroes sitting around and socializing at the tower, which surely would happen. It only takes a couple panels but you see there is a personal exchange that would pull them closer together. In the old books, you just had to assume this or the characters had to be in love.

I like the way things are.

I'm pretty pumped.
