Okay, I'm lagging a few years behind the curve here, but I just recently got around to reading the "Disassembled" issues that wrapped up the old Avengers title. I've got a quick question -- at one point, Bendis writes "it is the darkest day in Avengers history" or words to that effect. Can anyone think of any other good contenders for "darkest day in Avengers history"?

(I'm still partial to "Avengers #200" from around 1980 as their worst day ever.)

Ever since that one issue, one writer after another keeps bringing up the notion that Hank Pym is a mentally unstable wife-beater, over and over and over again. If ever there was a comic book equivalent of jumping the shark, that moment was it. The character of Hank Pym has been suffering for it ever since, and it inevitably ends up dragging the rest of the team down along with him *gah*
