'Runs' as in a run on the title rather than what happens when you eat too much curry.

Anyway, which writer has had the best run on the Avengers, or which particular era was the best in your opinion?

What did you think of Busiek's run on Volume 3?
Was Geoff Johns a worthy successor?
What do you think of Bendis' work on New Avengers?

I can only comment on the runs I've read. I really liked Roger Stern's run on Avengers, as well a Steve Englehart's run on West Coast Avengers.

Was very good and a worth succesor to Stern's brand of writing.

Did not read his run.

I followed the first year of the title, then dropped it. Didn't seem like the title was going anywhere and very little actually teamwork was going on. I came back on with the new team, and it seems like this lineup is better suited to his style of writing.
