It's true.

The nigh mythical comic at last landed onto my local comics shop shelf. It's a good read, and I'm looking forward to reading the series all the way through at last. I've only waited over five years for that pleasure. ;\-\)

I do like this book, it's a clever take on the classic MU, but since it began its run so very long ago, the regular Marvel Universe has largely caught up to it in tone, making the Ultimates less potent. There's still the sting of death unlike the regular MU, but hyper-realism is less special.

This is such a good Avengers story that it's a pity that it will become remembered primarily as emblematic of the way in which comics get delayed for myriad reasons. Like 52 was impressive simply because it hit its marks despite suspect artistic merits, Ultimates will be the poster-book for dismaying delays in the face of creator assurances despite its brilliant workmanship. The way the book simply fell of the rails at the end was downright odd. It's almost as if this...pardon the pun...ultimate issue is an afterthought after the drama of its creation.

By the way...it's a good story with a satisfying ending.

>Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't sure if it came out or not because it seems like NO ONE is talking about it.... I guess i'll have to go buy it....
