I could not DISagree with you more. As an Avengers fan who first got hooked in the 240s of volume 1, I find little to like today.

In Mighty you get a handful of classic Avengers written poorly and out of character. Let's revert Wasp to the flighty little girl she was 40 years ago and ignore her maturity and leadership skills. Let's make Natasha a cold assassin, even though she has rarely been that. Let's throw in Sentry because he's Nu-Marvel Kewl.

In New, we get a bunch of name brand characters who have never really been Avengers carrying on the name. I get that to many several of them have become key Avengers of late, but not to me. I could live with the coming on with some tie to the old days with Cap and IM. Now they just come off as pretenders for me.

In the Intiative we get a bunch of kids getting slaughtered in the name of government registration while the guy supposedly training them belittles them left and right and Rhodey inexplicably chooses to forget he has a spine on goes along with Tony NOW despite all the times when he's walked for much worse reasons.

Man, give me the halycion days of Avengers Unplugged compared to this dreck. Sales may be better because they have Wolvie, Spidey, and a new jerky Iron-Man, but you can count me out.

And no, I am not just against change. I dug the Giffen Justice League despite its much different tone from the classic League. I didn't mind the Crossing and the changes they tried to do there (with the possible exception of the costumes). I'm cool with change when it makes since and evolves. Nu-Marvel has always seemed far from that for me.

Yeah, Bendis Avengers just has not captured me either. I gave it two years, but bailed a few months ago. And the artwork on New just is not my taste. Too sketchy for my taste.

I like Slott and I'm giving Initiatve a little more time.
