> Think about it.
> The secret invasion allows for any character to be returned whole (perhaps alive from presumed dead) and intact without any baggage from previous storylines. Hank Pym never created Ultron or hit Jan, Skrull Pym did that. The last thing Pietro remembers is being in the Savage Land- he never married Crystal, never went insane or evil about a half dozen times. Pym and Quicksilver could be returned to pristine quality. What an amazing tool to be able to utilize to restore characters to previously unrestorable and unforseeable greatness.
> A list of characters who could use a recreation
> the aforementioned Quicksilver and Yellowjacket
> Scarlet Witch
> Alpha Flight
> Cap (of course)
> If you were in the planning room at Marvel, what event or character development would you like to see erased.
> As you could probably guess, I'd like to see Pym's and Pietro's history unwritten and rewritten.
At first, I thought "no, this sounds a lot like the whole One More Day fiasco (I admit, I don't read Spider-Man, just the overall vibe I've gotten from the web on this)". After all, wouldn't we all be in the Spidey fans' boat and feeling like the last 20, 30, 40 years of stories were out the window? And then I began to think that maybe it's not such a bad idea. While I don't think it could, or maybe SHOULD, apply to every character, it would fix a lot of problems for some of them. I never really considered how far back this could go. I just assumed that a Skrull Invasion would have occurred fairly recently. But some could really benefit from it. The original Alpha Flight could have been abducted between issues 1 and 12 of Volume 1. All the originals could still be alive! Heck, even Guardian's convoluted death/resurrection/etc might never have happened. Mockingbird could have been grabbed before she and Hawkeye started having problems, thus her return could complicate things as she still loves him, but he thinks she's been dead for years. But I really like the Hank Pym angle. If Hank was snatched prior to making Ultron, he could return and try to pick up his life with a whole different set of baggage. He might've never become Giant Man, or if it occurred a little later, never been Yellowjacket. He would still be in love with Jan (presuming she wasn't skrull-napped too). He'd have to find his way in the world as Giant Man or Goliath, without the whole wife hitting, identity changing mess that he's been made into. Or at least, have him been snatched between his leaving the WCA and returning (unexplainably, remember) as Giant Man agian. After all, as Dr. Pym, he had finally seemed to accept his lot in life and moved on both as a person and a hero (much like Beyond! showed us he could). Wow, there's some real possibilities here...
