> I don't see it getting discussed enough, so I'll say it.
> 1. Was this an issue of Iron Man? It seemed like everyone else was a guest star.
Didn't mind that too much.
> 2. It is anti-climactic for the Avengers to keep letting other heroes walk away. I mean, anti-climactic to Civil War. In both Avengers titles it happened this month and it's been happening.
On one hand, yes. The other hand, see below.
> 3. I like Ares more now just for his one line about people better start remembering that he's a god. Ha.
Yeah. But didn't care for when he said 'One down'. Only ONE at that point? And NOT by his hand he acknowledges Sentry's superiority this way.
> 4. The symbiotes seemed silly. A virus? This needs to be explained. I mean, how much was Spider-man tortured by these symbiote things? And now they can spray them with some hyped-up hand sanitizer? Hate it.
Considering many Marvel stories have villains tech-tizing known superpowers this seemed potentially okay. The details next issue may or may not show silly.
> 5. So excited to see Doom. I notice he's been creeping into several titles. I hope his appearance in Avengers isn't a throw-away appearance, but that it actually moves us into a deeper plot. After Secret Invasion, I think Doom needs to let everyone know why he's Marvel's greatest villain. Quiet too long. (Yes, I understand that he was in Hell.)
It will be interesting to note if they footnote that. Liked the cover and as for this issue here's my review:
Mighty Avengers #8
HATED the green on yellow font but liked the issue!
Was confused by the post BELOW after reading the preview but was liked the replies after reading the issue.
-to see some elements with seeming attention to respect of readers
-to include the Venom hosts page. Ben Rielly, eh? Interesting.
-to include topical temporary passwords. Al Bundy rules! And MEPHISTOurich4535dfg? Interesting.
-to have Tony order no killing as I wondered about BELOW. Interesting motive to keep the team in the action.
-to have Tony consider the possibility that 'Tasha could STILL be a skrull as I wondered below
-to see Simon note a changed bird to credit readers who caught a similar transformation earlier. Birds could've flown away before the cure. Interesting.
-to work Luke Cage in the fight. Carol is still looking at him for ongoing readers to note. Interesting.
-to use H.E.R.B.I.E. just for recognition factor and credible way to take FF out of story as is the traditional story device
-to see a post-THE CHOSEN encounter with Clint/Tony. The things said are still open to debate - could ge be an uncivil outburst, a plot device, skrull talk, right on the money. Don't know but the point was how it affected Tony as seen in his eyes, something misinterpretted. Interesting to find out which it will be.
-to end the venom arc here, after we already know the result from NA, and dedicate the final issue of the arc to an undiscovered story
-to let the New Avengers go. Glad Carol had her priorities straight - at least by readers viewpoint.
-the half page panels all looked rushed art - the final wonderfully drawn double splash is evidence of this
-to use H.E.R.B.I.E.? Can not believe Connecticut(sp?). And what about CLOC in the Tower? No, convenient, SHIELD Helicarrier to at least relay with?
-have to think about Strange using that calming spell
-no reveal if there was a body count. Did Ares kill anyone after his one down comment but before the no kill order?
-not even a thought bubble of Lindy by anyone. Sentry or Stark or teamleaderCarol wouldve been nice.
