The one Earth superhero who can detect a Skrull is ... Daredevil! He can't actually detect that they are Skrulls, but he can detect who is hiding some secret different from the secrets others might be hiding. As comics evidence, I cite Bendis' writing Daredevil's powers sort of this way when Matt Murdock was deducing who was harboring a demon in a support group, and I also cite Nick Fury's offer to Daredevil to join S.H.I.E.L.D. Now I don't think Fury was recruiting Matt Murdock because he knew he could detect Skrulls, but it would be a nice tie-in.

From a Marvel business standpoint, sales on Brubaker's Daredevil are good but not spectacular, similar to how sales were for Brubaker's Captain America before Civil War and the death of Captain America storyline. I therefore also predict that Daredevil will finally join the New Avengers. In addition, I believe that Spider-Man will eventually have to be replaced because of the events of OMD, therefore another Marvel heavyweight has to take Spider-Man's place.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see the Thing join the Avengers somewhere down the line considering that Bendis is including him apparently in the upcoming Doom storyline.

I imagine we'll see Daredevil in the crossover mini, especially since Bendis would probably love to write him again, but i'll bet dollars to donuts we won't see much if any of Secret Invasion in the actual Daredevil title.

Ed Brubaker's strategy with the comic seems to be about avoiding crossovers. He shipped DD off to Europe to avoid Civil War and has barely mentioned the SHRA since, and World War Hulk didn't so much as brush up against the title despite ostensibly happening not only in the same city but in Manhattan, that is, where Hell's Kitchen actually is.

Indeed, this crossover-averse style is part of why the sales are solid but unspectacular; no crossover gimmicks, nor even one of those ubiquitous "Marvel Zombies" cover variants has been employed on Daredevil Even Amazing Spider-Girl took on one of those.

More to the point, we're seeing the buildup issues in the solicitations, and Daredevil's book doesn't appear to be part of that buildup.

"It's not, 'Oh, they killed Sue Dibney and I always loved that character,' it's 'Oh, they broke a story engine that could have told a thousand stories in order to publish a single 'important' one.'" -- John Seavey
