Then Genis-Vell started using Photon and there was an issue of the Thunderbolts where she called him out for continually stealing her names. He said he didn't object to her taking Captain Marvel back but she declined (and I'm pretty sure she started using Pulsar at that point). So she hasn't been Captain Marvel for I'd say 16 years or so.

Yeah, she hasn't. Thought it might be grabber for a (topical) subject line especially with the new CM around the corner. Besides thats who she is in the story. Putting '(Monica)' was probably dumb to add there but its too late to edit out now.

D'ya recall what issue Vell told Rambeau it was okay to use his name? Curious to dig it out and reread it if it is still in my collection. How long will it be before he gives Carol approval for her new role? Wonder if he ever commented on Ms. M's codename connection to his.
