I certainly agree with you about their back stories-- theirs is about the most interesting of the Avengers, imo. However, I would think Vision would fit the conspiracy angle, to a tee. But he could have been thought of as expendable collateral damage.

I agree - for those who haven't read it, the original Vision & Scarlet Witch mini-series does a great job of pointing out just how much these two are inter-connected to the shared universe - culminating in the reveal that Magneto is Wanda's birth father.
Wasn't there a Disassembled-era interview where Bendis said he asked Queseda for a list of characters he could kill to wipe away the old guard? Seems to me I remember him reacting with glee about how many characters (and with big names) were on that list.
