Quote:Clint has only been a total sleaze since Bendis took over. If anyone wants to count the Wasp as actually having happened, then we'd have to scooch the timeframe back a smidge. But I have a hard time including Lioneart of Avalon with canon.
Quote:If you think about it it was basically Clint who ushered in the Bendis Era by not being able to keep it in his pants and sleep with Wasp, causing... yep you guessed it Wanda to break down.
The easiest way to explain Lionheart of Avalon is to say that Wanda was *already* messed up and she was already affecting how the team was behaving. That could explain the nonsensical Clint/Jan fling and how everyone was treating Hank, which made even less sense.
It surprised me that Hank never really got into it with Clint over it.
They had a brief couple of words about it in Avengers Academy, since Gage is thorough with his characters and wouldn't leave something like that out. It made me cringe though to see it referenced.
Quote:Bendis turned Clint into a "Big Richard (nickname)". And lets not forget about him and Wanda, hopefully they will retcon that in it being a LMD or some Doombot.
It's already been retconned into being a Doombot thanks to Children's Crusade.
But now we need some sort of explanation as to why Hawkeye would have sex with what he thought was his amnesiac longtime friend. It just doesn't fit with the character we've known all these years.
I imagine new readers can't stand the guy.
The very first impression one would have gotten of Hawkeye if you started reading at Disassembled is sleazy. As I recall, that began with the team sitting around a table talking, and the conversation involved Hawkeye saying he wanted to nail Viper because he liked the green hair. Or something to that effect.
