At the time of Hank finding out, got sick and ran away.... really the guy who could grow and squish Clint like a bug ran like some "door mat" Boyfriend? The reaction Hank was given was just bad writing, not Wanda playing with their minds. But I guess the new Bendis legacy will be that it was a repercussion of Wanda's blah blah blah.

Everything going on there was bad writing. I don't see how anybody's behavior could be considered sensible or in character in those issues. It felt like there had to be some outside force at work there. At the time, I thought it might be Morgan Le Fay.

Instead, it was a different villain. Badwrit Ing. When things don't make sense, it's because of Badwrit Ing showing up!

But now we need some sort of explanation as to why Hawkeye would have sex with what he thought was his amnesiac longtime friend. It just doesn't fit with the character we've known all these years.

I imagine new readers can't stand the guy.

The very first impression one would have gotten of Hawkeye if you started reading at Disassembled is sleazy. As I recall, that began with the team sitting around a table talking, and the conversation involved Hawkeye saying he wanted to nail Viper because he liked the green hair. Or something to that effect.

Clint was always impulsive to some part but screwing a friend over that he is a team member with (both Hank and Wanda)??? I liked him in Tbolts and seemed a lot more stable then. Now he just became the team jerk who sounds like he is need of some sort of sex addiction intervention. Shame since he grew a lot as a character before all this.

I liked him in Thunderbolts too. That Hawkeye has nothing in common with the one we've got now. T-bolts Hawkeye was so against murder that he convinced Abe to go to jail for his old murder charge. And he wasn't a horndog or he would have hooked up with Songbird when she had a brief crush on him. Or Moonstone. Or Skein.

It really bugged me when Hawkeye went after Osborn. One, because the character has always been against killing, to a fault even. And two, because they completely ignored his history with Moonstone.

Poor Moonstone has suffered through a lot of character destruction too. She was fascinating in Thunderbolts. I wasn't a fan of the Kree personality interference in her moonstone though.

Characterization is a victim of peoples big ideas for plots quite frequently nowadays.
