Not crazy about (the ramifications) of every powerful magic item having a sentience embedded in them. And if not every one then it was too odd that coinicdentally the 2 artifacts of White Tiger and Reptil both had a (soon to be?) Handbook entity powering, if not imbued in, their gems.

It doesn't really bother me, because it's what I assume for magic artifacts. My feelings on them stem from D&D, in which pretty much ALL artifacts have a sentience, like the preciousprecious of Lord of the Rings.

Most known mystic items should be known by now if they are simply magically-charged objects or more artifact in nature (by either precident or the likes of Dr.Strange's Eye of Agamotto - which was established to be an extension of Agamotto early on). It seems clear that, say, the Malice gem has a life tied to it - where is she/it by the way? But is it clear, say, that the Moonstone gem may arbitrarily have a powerful being added to the established Lifestone's origins as a story device?

I'm not sure they are magic.

Also repetitive was 'the kiss'. It was a great scene but they JUST DID the same creative moment the issue before. Something different might have been uniquely inspiring. Not to say that Mettle was well spoken in the moment.

This scene had more meaning than last issue, imo.

Disappointing that Coat of Arms seems much more evil than the mini had her - just like The Hood became less appealing after his mini. Fine, on the one hand she gives an plausible excuse for that. On the other, it's because of that bargaining with beings in unrevealed artifact(s) she keeps in her pockets. (Didn't realize she had a Slapstick thing going on there.)

Well, the point was she was being driven insane by the power. She wasn't really acting of her own volition. Reptil and Tiger even talked at length about this (minor quibble that they talked about that for a bit too long; it brought the scene to a stop).

Julie was unappealing with her mix of bravery and revulsion. And X-23 was unconvincing with her sustained consciousness followed by the instanteous cure.

The excitement is just snowballing beautifully, imo. I'm soooo sad and pissed that this perfection is ending.

City of Heroes is BACK!
