    Pretty much disgusted right now.

So this is what we get instead of Avengers Academy. Sigh.

I'm having flashbacks to when the creators of Academy-X, Christina Weir & Nunzio DeFilippis, who had lovingly built up their squads of new characters, were abruptly kicked to the curb by Marvel. Then half those characters were then killed in a series of bloodbaths in stories that had nothing going on but shock value.

They can bring up other comparisons all they want, but Marvel is clearly trying to cash in on the popularity of the Hunger Games. And speaking of cashing in, there's very little reason for this to have the Avengers brand on it.

Even if it ends that most of the casualties are the new characters created for the comics, if only one member of Avengers Academy, Runaways, Cammi or Darkhawk bites the dust, it will show again that new heroes are nothing but redshirts for Marvel.

I'm sure they'll kill some pre-existing characters. We better brace ourselves.

Isn't this pretty much what DC recently has done with their teen heroes with the culling storyline?
