Comic book issues are just too expensive now for me to buy. I think I have enough. From now on I plan to focus on trades and back issues (I had most of my collection stolen a few years ago).
On to AvX, Basically I haven't been thrilled with AvX since the Phoenix 5 started. It was a cool idea, but they picked the wrong characters, the visual designs were surprisingly inept, and the story plateaued from that point. I've been bored for the past several issues.
But killing Charles Xavier is pretty redundant, I mean, Bishop shot him in the head at the end of the Messiah Complex. So the shock value isn't there, because we've seen this before. Except that now it's supposed to stick. Well, his story hasn't been worthy of something like killing Xavier. I'm disappointed. I feel like this was done to give the story depth, instead of just doing the story well.
I imagine the Marvel Now universe will be interesting, just not interesting enough for me to blow all my money on.

You're right. AVX is too long, or perhaps just mis-paced.
And anyway, yes, comics are an addiction. Not the worst addiction, but an addiction nonetheless.
