Maybe it had a few flaws over the other 2 books but the return of a bona fide and regretfully, underused, handbook supervillain more than made up for it. INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN has always been such a cool name and Damon Dran terffic trademark titled illiteration - how did this Z-lister not make it to the B-list by now?! Not that the Mad Monk hasn't come into his own after the fine exposition he got before the unfortunate
mess he found himself at the end. Hopefully, MOLAT BOGA will return but even if he never does the justice paid here works wonderfully for this adventure mission. BTW, is HAMMER OF GOD a literal translation?
There was unclear choreography with that turbine scene. And it ended with the unclear sequence with the sudden arrivel of undetected ships surrounding torture trawler Tasha's trapped on with that oddly placed, broken Widow Insignia overlayed on top.
However there were so many good elements to make up for those 2 detractors (3 if you count Hill's disappearing coffee cup):
Beautiful, beautiful cover.
Effective, thematic, espionage feel presented smartly.
Meeting TORI RAVEN and what she has to (literally/figuratively)offer.
Clever, clever wordplay with UNORTHODOX.
Decent fight scene enhanced by a freakin' plane crashing on top of 'em.
Running up that escape slide just struck me as a cool everyman feat.
The surprise of the plane's manifest.
Cameo of the not forgotten of the sole supporting cast so far.
Maria Hill (even if the extent of her on-hand presence is a bit simple-handed).
Widow doing interrogation - want to see more of this ever since the Avengers movie.
Neat underwater jet-baton.
S.O.L. covertly getting past the censors.
Status of Dran.
Spot on narration, all issue, that leads up to the "it's on" cliffhanger danger for Widow.
