Quote:I actually like this issue and have liked the book itself, as being one of the better ones. Interesting how The Grey Gargoyle dislikes the Skull, I wonder if could be a story where other villains who have the same feeling "join" in the hunt for the Skull. Especially Magneto and could the reformed Victor Von Doom have the same feelings?
Doom would have similar feelings, regardless.
Cap's.. argh.. make that Rogers' apparent strategy to keep this Brainhunt on the QT is just another frustrating, if not baffling, leadership decision by the team. And then apparently only letting "reliable, stickaround" Cable in on it so far just was another detracting story element considering what % of the world (99?) would want RS caught.
Siderbar: Hopefully, Sam will have the courtesy of changing his codename once there are 2 Caps running around http://www.comicboards.com/php/show.php?msg=camb-2016012618045666 to avoid increased referencing confusion that's been going on since Steve has been taking Geritol.
Quote:But before the whole ending of the Universe, wasn't the Skull in the hands of Doom?
Oh, THAT'S riiight, you guys. Forget about Grey Gargoyle's minor player, unfootnoted, revolving door chronology this is a serious story element that demands backstory ASAP.
Siderbar: Was there ever and backissue where Molecule Man and Red Skull interacted?
Quote:How do you fight a villain who won't fight if he doesn't want you to fight? Clearly the Avengers need a telepath, to find and help defeat Skull, Marvel Girl? Emma Frost? Both? I know Commander Rogers has always been uneasy around telepathic people.
If Spidey can beat down Firelord, Cable and Voodoo could theoretically be enough.
Don't leave it up to Rogue who would take Firelord over a telepath 'cuz they need more flyers.
Quote:Also wouldn't Rogue feel there is something wrong with Remy? That he isn't acting like himself? What might have been a nice twist if the squad knew it was Skull and was leaving to allowing him to think he fooled them.
Not if Red Skull didn't want her to.
As mention, it still feels 50/50 that Rogue knows Gambit was fake based on her body language (if art was purposefully detailed and she wants to show a shred of superhero value for the Squad. However, IMO, it would have made a much more fantastic story device had she did not mess up and revealed the fact for the ending instead of showing
