Well, I picked up the first issue and really wanted to enjoy it. In spite of all the complaining online about Marvel's big events I have generally been entertained by them.

So far this event just isn't doing it for me. Part of it is that there was very little (if any) build up to it other than the FCBD and #0. The events I like the best are those that actually have build up. This one literally starts in the middle of the action so the tensions between CM and IM come out of nowhere.

There are nitpicky things I could harp on. The fact that the celebration party was at Stark Tower was really annoying since he no longer owns it. I can usually overlook things like that but this time it took me right out of the story.

I can't really understand Tony's position. What if the Ultimates had not confronted Thanos? How many more people would have died? Did Ulysses's vision give any indication of that? What if this is a case of an acceptable loss in order to accomplish an objective?

It is not like they were given a future where there was potential for trouble. We're talking about Thanos. Could there be a situation when they wouldn't have to confront Thanos?

Granted, his best friend is dead and he is working through his grief... but his opposition to making use of Ulysses's powers was evident even before Rhodey's death.

I'll keep reading at this point because I think the premise has a lot of potential. But not a great start to the series.

Locking people up before they do something they haven't done yet verses Regristraion...they are fairly close conceptually.
