It all comes down to this: Requiem is coming

Infinity Countdown - Darkhawk #4 was such a unappealing/disappointing conclusion, after such a promising lead up, so didn't even bother posting about it. This conclusion on the other hand kept consistent with it's lead up - mediocre and arbitrary.

I liked the Darkhawk "ending."

Anyway... oh no! It's another popsicle sword. Just when Magik seemed to ditch hers.

*sigh* The infestation spreads: now we have Old Woman Gamora.

Dear lord, this art is an eyesore

Thor and Hulk books this week are much worse than it. Heck, it's even main reason for ths post with the newest banner submission. ;\)

I think you guys need to be more precise about your critique. There are several styles of art in the issue, so which?

The Pym story art is just okay to me. Nothing bad, but nothing great.

I'm sorta on the fence about the Black Widow story art. I like how everybody has a creepy looking face (well, everybody but Tasha). Strange has this Anthony Ainley vibe.

I really dig the GotG story art, as I have for a while now.

But I liked the art in the Thor (Del Mundo is about the only thing I like) and Hulk (pretty much all of it) books too.

I can't tell if the floating squares surrounding the text at the top of the pages are meant to be stylistic, or if they're an error.

Floating squares? Text at the top? Somebody on medication?

Hank is not allowed any victory ever, is he?

Well, he did get a Standard Not-in-his-right-mind Loophole/Get Out of Jail Free Card for all the atrocities that Pymtron caused. So, apparently (and arbitrarily) his good human soul has been trapped in the Soul Gem all along.

He's right where he belongs...
He's right where he belongs...
He's right where he belongs...

Yikes.

You probably can't die in Soulworld, right?

Don't see how.

To be brought back in part 2.

Hmm...

Souls. What exactly is there to crunch? IMO, any kind of spiritual realm is totally subjective to the point of being commpletely unreliable. Pym is only as "dead" as he allows himself to think he is. Old Woman Gamora is only hearing a crunch because she wants to.

Hank had to believe his hallucination.

CW-era clothes? Oh, the Pym hallucination. Yeah, it was just his dream.

I don't like this book. It doesn't have the realism and groundedness expected from a Marvel comic book

Realism? Groundedness?! WTF?! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Since when.

Last Days of Magic is getting ignored even by Aaron itself, he just really wanted to use his blue design for Strange in his Avengers book
And Waid put Strange on his feet after his first issue (with a literal training montage)
Let's hope the depowered Strange is a thing of the past now.

I don't think so.

Well, Black Widow might be more cosmic than Turk.

Slott wants Galactus in his F4 and let's be honest: it was due to happen anyways
Now just make Galacta the new lifebringer

Or maybe even write off Galacta.

Galacta isn't even in continuity. Per Brevoort. Oh gosh, now I'm imagining Galacta as a planet birthing machine like from that Monty Python video (from that movie).

This pretty much makes me hate the FF return. Seriously, having another FF Galactus story is just hopeless retread and pretty much the reason FF has sucked for decades. Give them some new exploring to do. And this is what Lifebringer was: new exploring. And it was hobbled before it could even walk.
