The Shadow sure, but Conan? Tarzan? Can you tell me the influences of the latter two?

Batman was inspired by Conan and Tarzan.

Conan is the greatest warrior in his world, who rescues damsels in distress, seeks riches, is a king of a nation, and uses his mind to understand the world around him and defeat his enemies.

Like Conan Batman is the greatest warrior in his world, rescues damsels in distress, has money like crazy (So he does not need to steal.), Bruce is the king of Gotham City (He is the richest guy in Gotham.) uses his mind to understand the world around him and defeat his enemies. Furthermore like Conan Batman has fought his own share of humanoid monsters like Man-Bat and a Werewolf.

Tarzan lost both his parents, is an orphan, and fights and kills animals. Batman like Tarzan lost both his parents, is an orphan and fights and kills animals. Furthermore like Tarzan mimics the actions of an ape, Batman mimics the action of a Bat.
