Green K is too lethal. too dangerous. He's trying to come up with ways to stop Superman (or Zod etc), not kill him.

I believe she is, her molecular structure isn't New Earth Kryptonian.

At a guess it's a case of "I'm doing this, and he knows I'm doing this, and I know he knows I'm doing this, etc"
Consider that Batman was happy enough to discuss his results with Batman, and for Chris and Robin to have fun together.

I think that was in sardonic jest. Look at Robin's face in that shot.

Hmm. That's a point. Would have made more sense to me if they hadn't taken time to specifically mention that the research was prompted by the destruction of the ring, but it does make sense.

See, that's not exactly how I read it. Batman, joking aside, did not seem happy that Superman knew about his research. And he definitely did not seem happy about sharing it. In the end, trust and respect won out, but he needed some convincing.

I read that expression as "Ha-ha! Busted!" A reaction to Superman knowing about it, more than Batman's reaction.
And yes, like I said, I realize it was at least half in jest, but I'm guessing that underneath the joke, he was partly serious. I wouldn't be surprised if he did build a lead-lined lab/armory off in some corner of the cave.
