Since then, though, he's been putting some time and effort into yet another side project (How does he have time for all this? I know, I know... He's Batman): finding a way to stop Superman, just in case. He's had enough time to do some pretty extensive R&D (heavy on the R, of course). > > Thing is... He's got money, underworld contacts, and a fairly extensive information network. Black Mask was able, not too long ago, to put those three things together to get himself 100lbs of kryptonite. Now, even if that's no longer in continuity (and maybe that is best left buried, for several reasons), the point remains that Batman should have had no trouble replacing the ring by now, with some bigger chunks on the side. > > So... why hasn't he? Or... did he, and it just didn't come up? Lex obtained a lot of the Green Kryptonite for when he was raising Admiral Dru-Zod's warship in "Up, Up & Away". According to Lex, he had wanted more, but he would have to do with what was available. Which sounds like he had what Black Mask had aquired, plus more. The Kryptonite he had, as far as we know, is gone. He later found one chunk of green and three of the other color, to use to repower Metallo. As far as we know, until more chunks of Green Kryptonite land on Earth, there's a shortage of that. Gold is a last resort and probably not as easily found. So Batman has opted to go the non-lethal route, just as he did in "Tower Of Babel". He only tells Superman because it comes back to issues of trust. Clark gave Bruce the Kryptonite ring because he trusted that Bruce would use it without hesitation. Everyone else would, but he wouldn't. It was never used until "Sacrifice" and then again in "Infinite Crisis". Though Clark did use it to knock out Kara once. | |||||||
