what's everyone's opinion on the current Ra's storyline? i was really looking forward to it but it's not really done anything for me yet, was curious what everyone else thought.

It's been a fairly dull story so far, to be honest, with what should be big bombshells (The Sensei is Ra's' father? Ra's can return from death in spirit form?) being dropped in perfunctory fashion, so that neither the characters nor the reader can take a deep breath and gape in wonder or surprise. It's too rapidly-paced and has too many writers handing back and forth to properly pace and execute those sorts of epic revelations, and too supernaturally-tinged and pseudo-epical to be a martial arts extravaganza of the Chuck Dixon sort. And it's trying to be both at once.

Put briefly, this is a story in which a massive three-way battle in an eternal, mystical hidden land next to the fountain of youth comes off as three guys sparring next to a pond in front of some generic monks. Zombie Ra's ought to be spookier and his possessions subtler, the Sensei ought to have been more creepily wizened and deceptively powerful, and Nanda Parbat more breathtaking; or alternately, the mysticism and quest aspects ought to have been removed in favor of a madcap chase through a more conventional sort of pulp world.
