While I enjoyed elements of Knightfall, it still represents to me a time in comics when an obsession with shaking things up and making things new and gritty for its own sake sometimes overshadowed other elements of story telling.

But that said, my favorite Batman arc is only a three issues series; Dark Knight, Dark City.
