The idea was in the planning stages, but when "Return Of The Joker" came out, the content bothered the execs at Warner Brothers and called for it to be re-edited. They also opted to cancel the show, rather than renew it. So the plans for the follow-up film were suspended. Which worked for the best, because they resolved it all in JLU without making Selena look bad and copying what they had just done in ROTJ and "Mask Of The Phantasm".
