This is the climax of everything Morrison started way back in "52", when he had Bruce visit the Ten Eyed Man and his people to rip Batman out of him, so that he could start over. In doing that and then staying in Nanda Parbat, Bruce has left himself open to what is happening now. All of the stuff that has been going on since, is the result of that. This and what Granny is doing to him over in "Final Crsis" is why Bruce is like he is.
