No, youre right, it is the best of the series so far... Batgirl 5 http://www.atomicbooks.com/index.php/coming-soon/batgirl-5.html http://dcu.blog.dccomics.com/tag/lee-garbett/ http://leegarbett.blogspot.com/2009/05/batgirl.html http://i48.tinypic.com/1zvxsaq.jpg http://www.dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=13601 http://www.dccomics.com/media/excerpts/13601_x.pdf http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Yv74a8XkxJI/SwR2vJstRpI/AAAAAAAAENw/bc2lz2fQ6vw/s1600/BGv2+5_19.jpg ![]() That Damian standing by the tree is just crying out to be a banner one day! That slip and trenchcoat, in public, is just crying out to... the sex appeal demographic! ![]() One of the high points of the issue were so many little story telling devices: transparent cover logo(for a change), 2 perfectly used splash pages, the narration boxes flowed very nicely, the overlapping jinx-by-me-a-coke word balloons, swinging line actually showed connected to something for a change, the lettering and sound effects, and the losing consciousness box. There were LOTS of good humor bits too!! And some of it neatly subtle - for example, the superheroines inwardly complimenting Diesel's 'whats funny' comeback. Plus, enjoyed ALL Damian's dialogue and his dynamic with Steph was fun. Sure, there were several quibbles, some you point out, but overall a very entertaining read. Worth cover price.
