Reply Subj: This is more inspired by Gotham City Sirens, but since they don't have a board I'll ask it here:

Quote:The impression I have of Harley Quinn is that she is completely hollow inside, so she keeps trying to fill that void by putting on different masks. She started out as white trash, and put on a mask of a completely dedicated psychology student to hide how hollow that life had left her. But that just left her feeling suffocated rather than fulfilled, so she put on the mask of a wild, goofy gun-moll. She's nothing, so she'll pretend to be anything, just so long as someone will tell her who she is. Does that sound accurate or am I way off?
Sounds like a fair profile to me. And she is handled wonderfully here...
GOTHAM CITY SIRENS #18
Who else liked this issue?
Last issue must have been a rough start for this team. This story AND art were a very good deal!
Harley was very entertaining. Quite the card as it were. She showed some moral growth, also, to sway Ivy which makes for meaningful story - even though any writer can reasonably undo that if she really is so hollow. [They ruined Deadpool that way after his shared Cable series.]
Even moreso than Harley was the characterization and final decision of Zatanna. Excellently handled complete with her powerful father confessor scene. Really appreciated the references to the earlier mindwipe and this clever/effective scene/loophole worked in from that uber display of power - see attached.
The montage of Selina's mind couldve been done better and Harley didnt have to call the driver by the Jokers reserved pet name did she? Her love for Bruce shines thru, though, with her actions.
Talia handled herself well considering she is going up against metas but cant see how she stands a reasonable chance with the otherwise fair faceoff finale. But who knows, this issue was such an improvement things could get dicey - literally.
I miss my brother.
