I can't seem to get a straight answer. There are 4 "New 52" Batman monthlies: Batman, Batman and Robin, Detective Comics, and The Dark Knight. Are all four supposed to be happening at the same time in his (Bruce's) career (as Batman) or does each book take place at a different point or stage in his career?

Only Detective Comics happens to take place in Batman's early years. The others are in the present continuity. In Detective Comics no.1, Bruce Wayne seems to had encounter the Joker for the first time and seems to act in solo. No Robin. In Batman, and Batman and Robin, Damien exist. As for Dark knight, I think it's also part of the continuity before the relaunch.
