So uh...you're thinking it wasn't just named after Alexandre Dumas the author of the Three Musketeers or the Count of Monte Cristo? \:\)

Let's say that I am trying to rationalize why, inside story, former Templars whould name themselves the Order of Saint Dumas ... Still, it does make sense that a Templar from the Mas Déu would call himself "Du Mas". (^_^')

Also, I don't think that's a coincidence if DumaH (h, not s) and Azrael are both angels of destruction and that Dumah is also an angel of vindication.

After all, Dennis O'Neil, the creator of the Order of Saint Dumas, also decided to name his oriental villain Ra's Al Ghul, or, in another name, Beta Persei, the "most evil star" of astrology ...

So, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a play on words when he decided to use "Dumas" since both the Dumah angel and Alexandre Dumas' Count of Monte Cristo are about vindication. \:\-\)
