> Might you be being a little overly critical of what is basically a promotional picture (I'd be surprised to see Epting depict CA in these positions in the actual comic)? Yes, I am being a little overly critical. > Maybe he's supposed to be actually shooting in the picture and that's why his finger is on the trigger . . . who knows? Again though, that type of gun isn't designed for that type of action. > In any event, I have no problem with the running and shooting - this is Captain America, after all. What's he supposed to do - come to a full stop every time he's going to shoot? Not very entertaining. Well no, but if he needed to be on the move and aiming at something, that's one thing. He's just running and aiming forward. > Carrying an assault rifle, while more practical for shooting on the move, would also be too cumbersome and would restrict CA's movement too much. Granted. > While I hear you that the pic seems a little outlandish from a practical sense, a little suspension of disbelief is required here. Well sure. Obviously I'm overanalyzing, but the reason I brought this up has to do with the reader's acceptance of a new Cap, they should present him in the best light possible. To that end, it'd be nice if they showed this guy as someone trained in the use of a gun. Punisher has extensive gun training, yet he always runs-and-guns. For his character, that's acceptable. He seems willing to assume anyone in front of him is guilty and deserves to die. But for Cap, no matter who's in the suit, descression is called for. I'd much rather have had him running with gun in hand, but with it not aimed at the reader.... but that's just me. | |||||||
