Subj: Fraid not. :-) It seems our Atlas might very well be the closest thing DC has to Cain Marko. ... aka, The Juggernaut. ![]() From the previous issue (see attached scan), we got part of the story of Atlas's history and found out that the source of his powers are from (surprise surprise) a "crystal" imbedded within him. ![]() Anyway getting back to Supes, at first glance its easy to assume that he is being weakened in this fight. But are you so sure ? ![]() I could be wrong but I'm thinking that Supes (yet again) grossly underestimated his opponent believing that he could just slug it out with him and then realized too late that his blows are having no effect whatsoever on Atlas. Yes Supes keeps saying that something is wrong but notice he doesn't remark about how he "suddenly feels weak" or drops any of the typical hints that something (such as magic) is affecting his own ability to fight ? Rather we just see Atlas laughing off Superman's blows while (and this is key) the Kryptonian's knuckles are shown as bruised after hitting Atlas full in the chest. This certainly does strongly indicate Juggernaut type invulnerability on Atlas's part rather than weakness on Supes part. If I'm correct on the above (and once again, I could be wrong which means JF will have the last laugh ![]() Heh... whichever way it goes, I'm looking forward to this issue more than ever.
