Because Sinestro is in control.

Trauma's would have been better. He thinks like a phsychiatrist, and would have been able do what Hatman wanted to do; find a fear out of Namorg to exploit. As Sinestro, he might (what Hatman proposed was brilliant), but not as well, or as fast as Trauma would have.

Namorg can't at the same time fear Sinestrobos, and then pursue him into the sun.

As for Thorion's Amalgam I care little about Katara's blood water tricks, that sounds exactly like a plot device-driven power, but the fact that the fight takes place in an environmant that boosts not one, but two of his amalgamated characters's got to amount to something.

If it wasn't for that, I would have had a much more harder time deciding.
