      Massive prep.

    Quote:
Where Thor was concerned there was no prep. If there was it was not obvious anyway. It doesn't seem they were expecting Thor or were ready for him, Moonstone even reminds Osborn he said there would be no Thor which is where Sentry intervenes buying him breathing room.

I think there was prep. Osborn had a set of powerful villains ready to take down Thor. He would know from studying Thor that the thunder god would charge in head on. Sentry attacking him was to get him into place for the villains to blast him. I think he lied to Moonstone and the others about Thor being there because they would have been too afraid, but I think there was definite prep on Osborn's part. It would have been foolish to attack Asgard otherwise.

Looking at it again I do wonder if there might be another factor at work though, Loki? Or Osborns secret benefactor/weapon?

    Quote:
Yeah, Maybe... Sentry is just weird these days, the way Thor removed him from the field with just the one hit is bizzare but it seems to have become the Sentry formula - He arrives, wades into his opponent with one or two good hits, and is taken right out of the equation with one stroke. Weird.Weird.Weird.

That is why I dislike Sentry being in each of these major events. The way they rank his powers even above Thor, Hulk, and possible the Silver Surfer Sentry should (and often claims) to have the power to end these events in an issue. So the writers have to conveniently remove him to ensure he does not.
