Assuming that Reed's not going to be dismissed as a trivial threat and come up with a fancy flashlight to dupe the Sentry (*cough* WWH anyone? *cough*), then I can't see any reason why Reed couldn't simply access files on the Sentry (one must assume that Tony Stark has detailed files on Bob) to come up with something that not only neutralizes him, but perhaps eliminate him if need be.
The whole point of Reed Richards is that he is...with no exceptions...the smartest man on the planet. If anyone can do it (and I think Tony could do it), then there's no excuse for Reed not being able to do it too - perhaps even sooner.

We were told that SHIELD would kill Sentry if the could, but they haven't figured out a way to do it in all this time. I know SHIELD isn't Reed, but they've had a long time to try and a lot of resources.
Of course Reed's abilities are only limited by the writer, so I wouldn't rule it out. However, after reading the minis I would have to ask why he didn't already. It was definitely the point that only Sentry could stop Sentry.
