Quote:Yeah, I know Wolverine says that ad nauseam, but I'm putting together a list of common comic book abilities and I notice that Wolverine doesn't rate even near the top on most of them. I've tried to place these abilities in alphabetical order, and if I've missed any I apologize, and please feel free to add. Also, I know my list is kind of Marvel-heavy, that's just who I read more of.   Please feel free to any any names you think are appropriate, and if you like where they and others rate on a scale of 1 to 100.
Quote:I put Spider-Man on top here, with honorable mention to Daredevil, Captain America, and Nightwing
Spider-man yes, He's embarrased Nightcrawler before now and if he can leave Kurt in the shade he should logically leave Cap behind too though it's debatable i suppose.
Quote:In this category, Batman's (Bruce Wayne) the best, with Dick Grayson coming in second. I'd also give a nod to all the investigative reporters in each universe, many of whom don't have superpowers. This includes Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Ben Urich, etc.
It's dependent on how you classify this but i think Daredevil should be right up there too, his senses and deductive reasoning make him arguably at least match for Batman in my opinion.
Best Energy projector
Quote:This is a hard one for me to figure out. As many energy projector as there are in comics, there doesn't seem to be a general consensus over which ones are the most powerful. Superman? Thor? Green Lantern? Cyclops? Iron Man? Does Iron Man even count as an energy projector since he does it using machinery?
You'll never get a straight answer here as whoever you name there's someone more powerful... I would nominate Silver Surfer obviously but point to Captain Atom who's reachable potential exceeds Surfers.
You can go on and on with potential candidates here.
Quote:Flash of course. In fact he's so fast that there aren't even many good stories about him now.
I can't think of anyone decisively faster no, but his speed is not responsible for the poor stories, reread Mark Waids run for example and you see it's just a matter of getting a writer who understands the mechanics of that power and its limitations.
Quote:Just like energy projection, this is a hard one to figure out. I've noticed that the two most overused powers in comics are flying and throwing zaps.
I nominate Hawkman largely due to his sheer experience, back in JSA #24 he's thrown off Onimar Synn's citadel minus wings and there's an awesome sequence highlighting his aviation intuition... his instinct is superb in this field.
Best at Healing
Quote:I think it's Wolverine, with the Hulk a close second.
Quote:Spider-Man shows this in his solo books more often than anyone else. After that, I'd go with Captain America, especially while he's leading a team.
In improvisation i'd say Iron Man historically ties Batman. Both superb at adapting on the spot...
Quote:Reed Richards in first place. Hank Pym, Tony Stark and Doom tie for second.
Yup, though How about Doc Savage?
Quote:Captain America hands down. He's both inspirational and leads by example. (Something Superman btw is not so good at.)
Superman does every bit as well as Cap actually. But in terms of experience and ability Cap is indeed the man of choice... Though Optimus Prime rivals him.
Quote:Superman, Hulk, and Juggernaut. Put those 3 in any order you like.
Juggernaut by definition leads, Silver Surfer, followed by Superman and his most powerful imitators - the Hulk shouldn't make the list however!
Quote:Thor, Doctor Strange, Doctor Fate, Loki.
Etrigan, Spectre, Spawn or Ghost Rider surely? Again you can go on and on but in recognition terms Dracula is arguably the logical choice.
Best Power suit user
Quote:Iron Man. Doctor Doom may often have a better suit, having the resources of an entire nation to utilize, but Iron Man will use his suit more effectively.
I'd say Shellhead for sure leads the pack.
Quote:Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark, Lex Luthor, Norman Osborn, Doctor Doom. Place those in whatever order you want.
No idea. I guess right now it's Bruce Wayne at the top, Doom is leader of a relatively poor country, Luthor is Bankrupt, Osborn who knows while Tony Starks fortune is both contentious and frozen - if not confiscated....
Quote:Daredevil. Since stealth is more about being silent than being non-odorous, Wolverine can only get second place at best. After that, Batman, Nightwing, Electra, etc.
Tough call, if it's streetlevellers then Snake Eyes is in there as is The Shadow. I think if push comes to shove Elektra beats out Batman slightly but Daredevil is below Batmans expertise in this category while Wolverine might be anywhere....
Quote:The Hulk, then Superman
Superman. In terms of feats, combat showings and the fact the Hulk is going near allout 9/10 while Superman needs extra prodding to break his daily self-imposed level means Superman has a far higher ceiling to what he can draw on in terms of power - see performances against Brainiac, Subjekt-17, Konvikt or that squad of Daxamites for the idea.
Quote:This is the only one I can think of where Wolverine comes in first. Unless you mean tracking as a detective does, in which case Logan would be way behind Batman.
I'd say Daredevil heads the list actually, he can operate on a higher level than Logan.
